Carmel CornSubmitted by the Maggie B.“Carmel corn is such a treat on cool days and it’s also fun to “gift!” Package it in a big bag and nestle into a colorful plastic serving bowl for an enjoyable presentation!” 3 quarts popped popcorn ½ cup melted butter ½ cup honey ½ teaspoon salt ½ teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon vanilla Melt the butter and honey together; bring to a boil. Add salt, baking soda, and vanilla. Quickly toss with corn, being careful not to touch the hot syrup. Spread quickly in two buttered 15x10-inch pans. Bake at 250 degrees, stirring every 15 minutes. Usually takes about 45 minutes until it will be crispy. Pull out a sample, let it cool and test! Let the corn cool completely before packaging. |
